Confronting anti-LGBTI+ human rights abuses in Chechnya: what can the World’s parliaments do?

You are cordially invited to our virtual roundtable on human rights abuses in Chechnya. This roundtable will focus on what responses can be given to the situation of LGBTI+ persons in Chechnya, following the making of the documentary “WELCOME TO CHECHNYA: The Gay Purge”, BAFTA winner for the International category.
The event is the result of a collaboration between the LGBTI Intergroup at the European Parliament, the UK’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global LGBT+ Rights and the USA Congressional LGBTQ Equality Caucus.
It will count on the presence of elected members and Maxim Lapunov, survivor of anti-LGBTI human rights abuses in Chechnya.
