LGBTI rights in Poland one year after brutality in Białystok: What way forward?

The objective of this virtual roundtable will be to focus on the developments in Poland ever since the brutality experienced in Białystok in 2019 and in light of the recent comments against LGBTI persons during the Presidential election campaign.

For this purpose:

  • civil society (Campaign Against Homophobia and Białystok Pride) is invited to reflect on how the situation developed since 2019;
  • the Polish Commissioner for Human Rights (Dr. Adam Bodnar) is invited to address what actions his office took regarding LGBTI-free zones and local administrations that signed Family Charters;
  • and the European Commission is invited to discuss what future actions can be taken.
