Upcoming event: Families without borders – freedom of movement for LGBTI families

On the occasion of International Family Equality Day, the Intergroup on LGBTI rights and NELFA organise a seminar on 5 May, from 10.30-13.00 on freedom of movement for LGBTI families.

Free movement is a cornerstone of the EU, and everyone should be able to enjoy it. However, whereas one EU Member State may recognise a same-sex couples with a child as a family, this is not necessarily the case for  another Member State. This can lead to dangerous situations when these families cannot get the relevant rights recognised.

This meeting aims to shed light on the discrimination resulting from the non-recognition of the effects of marriages and registered partnerships, affecting both same-sex couples and importantly, their children.

You can now register by sending an email to events@lgbt-ep.eu latest by Sunday 3 May. Please indicate clearly your first name, last name, date of birth, nationality, ID type (passport or ID card) and number.
