Polish Human Rights Ombudsman Dr Janusz Kochanowski, recently deceased in the tragic Smolensk plane accident, had recently written to the Intergroup.
In a January 2010 plenary speech, Polish Member of Parliament Stanislaw Pieta had compared homosexuality to zoophilia, paedophilia and necrophilia. Following a request from Polish organisation Campaign Against Homophobia, the Intergroup had reacted by writing a complaint letter to MP Pieta.
Dr Kochanowski had responded to the Intergroup days before the Smolensk accident, stating his support of our stance against parliamentary hate speech.
