Upcoming Intergroup event: Free movement of LGBT families in the EU
On Wednesday 6 March, the LGBT Intergroup is organising a seminar on the free movement of LGBT families, and the obstacles they face when moving around the EU. Registration is now open.
What happens when two married women from Denmark travel to Germany? Or when a Spanish dad and his adoptive son move to Hungary? The situations they face at school, in hospitals or when accidents happen is patchy at best, since their families aren’t recognised everywhere in the EU.
After a successful seminar two years ago, we’re going to examine what—if anything—changed for LGBT families in Europe, and how current and future EU law could possibly stop these families dissolving at the border. Get ready for two panels: “A botched job: Limited free movement for same-sex couples and their families”, and “What solutions to facilitate free movement?”.
