Upcoming event: Moving Forward! LGBTI Rights in the 8th Legislature
On Wednesday 15 October, the LGBTI Intergroup-designate will host a discussion between MEPs, NGOs and EU Institutions about LGBTI Rights in this legislature.
Between 2009 and 2014, the European Parliament and other institutions worked hard to advance and consolidate LGBTI people’s rights. Yet despite significant improvements, LGBTI people’s rights continue to be infringed, and appropriate policy action has not been put into practice.
The aim of this meeting is to take stock of where we are concerning the fundamental rights of LGBTI people in the EU, and to look at the future: What could be expected by the end of this mandate, in 2019.
Speakers will include representatives from ILGA-Europe and Transgender Europe (TGEU) as well as representatives from the European Commission (tbc) and the EU’s Agency on Fundamental Rights.
The seminar will take place in Brussels, and is open to the public.
Guests without an access badge should send an email to contact@lgbt-ep.eu, indicating their full name, date of birth, city of residence and passport/ID card number before Monday 13 October at 12:00 CET (noon).
