Gay-bashing, ethnic divide and the aftermath of civil war are not the easiest subjects to turn into a comedy, but Serbian director Srđan Dragojević manages to do just that with Parada. In the film, a homophobic gangster and an homosexual veterinarian form an unlikely alliance to save the Pride parade in Belgrade.
The film won many awards, including the Serbian film awards (Fipresci Srbija) for the best feature film, as well as the best male role for Nikola Kojo (2011) and the Panorama Audience Award for Fiction Film at the Berlin International Film Festival 2012.
