European Parliament event: (Trans)Gender Equality?

On the 1st September, Marije Cornelissen MEP, together with other MEPs from the Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee and the Intergroup on LGBT Rights will organise a conference on transgender rights. The conference will explore how transgender people’s rights fit within wider EU gender equality legislation. It will raise awareness about the legal and social situation of transgender people, as well as the role of European institutions in defending transgender people’s fundamental rights.
